Horowhenua COVID-19 Ambassadors

Year 9 and 10 rangatahi and pasifika students from Horowhenua created some spectacular posters as they sought to raise awareness of Covid -19 in their communities.

Emma (year 9)

I chose to do my poster about where you can go to get vaccinated so that we can improve the number of people vaccinated.

I used the colours red, black, white because they are Maori designs.

Tishayla (year 9)

I used red, black and white colours to give my poster a Maori feel. I chose to focus on ways to prevent Covid-19 and used the Maori phrases instead of English so that New Zealanders can get used to seeing the covid preventions in Maori as well.

Sela (year 10)

I chose red and white to represent my Tongan heritage. The message I wanted to deliver was ways we could protect our community from COVID-19 in Tongan.

Skye (year 9)

I did my poster on ways to help fight COVID-19. I used Te Reo phrases to tell people 3 ways to prevent the spread.

Posters have been currently printed off on the school’s special printer in their art room. They have all been placed on the school facebook site, in the college library as well at the local town library - Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō -Te Takere.
