Drones and Tree planting Flaxmere

Rangatahi at Flaxmere were primed and ready to learn how to code their drones. Coding has become an essential skill in today’s techno-savvy world, utilised in designing websites and developing mobile apps. It is a skill that many of our rangatahi were keen to engage with.

Flight and navigation of the drones took place alongside their native tree planting as they rallied together within community to mark the beginning of a new lunar year. Natives planted included kowhai, kawakawa and pohutukawa.

The community area planted was greatly appreciative of the natives donated by PTC Trust and planted by our rangatahi. Everyone left feeling quite proud of what they had accomplished together for a cleaner, greener future!
