Solar energy MKT
Full of enthusiasm and excitement, this was the spirit of our rangatahi at Mangakotukutuku College. The once-in-a-century flooding occurring in the nelson Tasman region, reinforcing the need for increasing adoption and utilisation of more renewable sources of energy. NZ Herald reported that “a state of emergency was declared in the flood-ravaged region last week….Between the night of Friday, July 11, and the following Saturday morning, up to 200mm of rain was reported to have fallen in some areas of the region….The recent flooding left homes in Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough uninhabitable, roads damaged and properties inundated with flood waters’ and thousands without power.
Armed with this knowledge, rangatahi were keen to engage PTC’s solar energy workshop and worked feverishly to build their device to capture the noonday sunshine.
